Message from Commonwealth Boxing Council
FORMER COMMONWEALTH LIGHTWEIGHT AND SUPERLIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION WILLIE LIMOND
14th April 2024
All the members of the CBC Board of Directors will wish to join me in my wishes and prayers on
behalf of our former, two-weight Champion, Willie Limond and his family, as he lies in a hospital bed,
having been taken off life support.
I understand the situation is extremely grave and we can only hope against hope that the spirit and
determination he demonstrated in his career as a boxer, coming back from defeat to go on to new
Championship glory, will somehow overcome this current adversity.
