Debbie Down Inducted into British Boxing Hall of Fame
The Commonwealth Boxing Council is delighted to congratulate Debbie Down on her induction into the British Boxing Hall of Fame.
Debbie has spent almost three decades working within professional boxing, having begun her career with the British Boxing Board of Control in the late 1990s.
Her career has since taken her across the sport, including roles with promoters before becoming an important part of the Commonwealth Boxing Council.
In July 2020, Debbie became the first ever female Honorary Secretary of the Commonwealth Boxing Council, succeeding Simon Block after his 40 years in the position. She became only the fourth Honorary Secretary in the Council’s history.
Alongside her work with the CBC, Debbie has continued to operate at the highest levels of international boxing. She is listed by the WBC among its international secretaries and has also served as a supervisor on major championship contests.
Her induction into the British Boxing Hall of Fame recognises a career spent largely behind the scenes, helping the sport and its participants for close to 30 years.
Everyone at the Commonwealth Boxing Council congratulates Debbie on a thoroughly deserved honour.
